I serve an awesome God
I can't begin to describe why that is so true, but I will try. I am blessed so much every day, both with good things that happen to me and also some bad things from time to time. I guess one way to explain this is with a story of a King, God appeared to him in a dream and told him he could have anything he wanted. The king asked only for wisdom to judge right from wrong. God was so impressed with him that he not only gave him wisdom, but also great blessings (riches, prosperity and the like).

How does this story relate to me? God has a plan for my life. I don't think it is for me to be a king, but I do know he also gives me much more than I ask for. He blessed me with the ability to do well in school. He blessed me with a wonderful girlfriend. He blesses me with love, peace and happiness in my life. He has blessed me with safety and security in my life. I know these things are (potentially) temporary, so I am grateful for all of them. I don't ask for respect or material things, but God has given me these things anyway.
This week was a productive week. I made some progress on my chapter, I am pretty close to a new, fully-edited release. I have also made some good progress on my research. I have started the proposal document and will post that sometime this week once I get a decent amount of content. I have started to look into SELinux a little, but haven't gotten into any details yet. I also started looking at the metasploit project in more detail, more later.
Today was nice. We went to Sackets Harbor for an alumni event. Sackets Harbor is a nice little town over near Watertown. It is rich in history. It was a strategic military point during the war of 1812. It sits next to Lake Ontario. One thing I found interesting was that it was a town that experienced prosperity for a long time, it was had such a great location as a trade route, the military was there, so it was able to supply materials for wars etc, and it was a nice place for people to go and visit and trade. It went through tough times after the second world war however, and in the 1960s or so, the military that was there, primarily the Navy, left for the Watertown area. Sackets Harbor had relied a lot on people coming there and when times were hard in the U.S., people couldn't afford to come there. The place was basically abandoned during that time. The story doesn't end there though...People decided they wanted more out of their little town. They renovated some historic buildings and over time people came back to see these sites. The U.S did hit better economic times and now it is a really nice place to visit. Deeply rooted in its history, and also full of nice places to go restaurants and the like. Also with its excellent place on Lake Ontario, it has become a popular place to launch boats from.
